Twirling #2
Background
Barbara's nephew William was out from Halifax for a visit. Barbara asked if there was a quilt he might like. He chose the Twirling quilt pattern Barbara used to make a quilt back in 2018. We all went to Dragonfly Quilting and he selected the fabric for the windmills and a jelly roll to go with that blue fabric. The white muslim was purchased at the same time. That same blue fabric was used for the outer/primary border and binding.
The pattern, Twirling was by Daniela Stour. Published by Cozy Quilt Desgins, copyright 2009. It was made as a throw/lap quilt and is roughly 67 x 67 inches in size.
The top was started 2024.08.06 and completed 2024.09.23. We purchased some royal blue cuddletex for the backing. It then went off to Catherine for professional quilting and binding. The quilt pattern is "Happy Times". It was completed on or about 2024.10.22.
We delayed sending it on completion due to the possibility of a postal strike. It was eventually mailed off to William. Along with a couple of smaller quilts for his dog, Bo, and cats, Mess and Freckles.
My photography skills really do not do it justice.
Twirling, whirling, …
Here's a full view of the quilt top. I do like that metallic blue fabric used for the windmills and outer border.
A close up of one of the 'windmills', and a view of the backing fabric are also available.
