Mess' and Freckles's Quilt
Background
As mentioned, Barbara, when making a quilt for her nephew William, also put together quilts for his pets at the time: Bo and his two cats, Mess and Freckles. The quilts were from kits we got in surprise boxes from Dragonfly Quilting. They included the fabrics for the top. We purchased the backing fabric once the top was done. We like to have the top to help with matching the background fabric colour(s).
The pattern she used for the cats' quilt was called "Snow Ruby". As with Bo's, it is by Villa Rosa Designs. But the fabrics used really suggest it should be called something like "Starship Yellow".
Barbara started putting the top together on 2024.07.08. She completed it 2024.07.30. She then machine quilted (top stitched) it herself—a stitch in the ditch approach. It was completed 2024.12.24. The finished size is 47 x 56 inches (sorry too lazy to convert to metric).
Once we knew the postal strike was on hold, we mailed all three quilts to William. I am pretty sure he and his roommates appreciated the comfort the quilts gave them.
Mess' and Freckles's Quilt
Rather yellow, green and bright! Do four-legged people like that kind of thing? And, is there room enough for two of them?
And though we thought we were sending specific quilts for the four-legged individuals, we get the impression that's not how things work in William's household.
A close up of the fabric, and a shot of the back are also available.
