Cheaper by the Dozen

Background

The pattern and most of the fabrics for the quilt were purchased in September 2016, during Barbara's and Sharon's trip to Leavenworth, Washington.

The pattern, Cheaper by the Dozen, is by Legacy Patterns (© 2005) and requires 12 fat quarters for the body. Finished size is 59" x 74".

The pattern and a number of batik fabrics were purchased in Wenatchee at the Craft Warehouse (Store 12, unfortunately the store has closed). That's where Barbara saw the demonstration quilt. A second set of fabrics, Hoffman Batik Morocco, was purchased at Leavenworth Quilt Co. the same day. Don't know how many of those will be used for the quilt.

The trip is becoming an annual thing. Believe that was the 3rd one last year. Barbara doesn't always come back with fabric or patterns, but always comes back with Christmas decorations.

Barbara started cutting fabric for the top on May 16th, 2020. Just after her first chemo treatment. It was finally completed July 26th. With help from our extended family. Who helped us settle on the fabric for the border.

The quilt is as yet not finished. Barbara is planning on sending to Catherine, Sea Breeze Designs (on Vancouver Island), for batting, backing and professional quilting. As of September 10th, we are not sure when that will be happening.

We will add more photos once it has been finished and professionally quilted.
