Background

This is another of the many quilts purchased at Village Quilts in Lethbridge during my annual trips to visit mother and the rest of the family. Trips, which with that of 2014, seem to have come to an end. Barbara will miss the 3 or 4 quilt kits that always seemed to jump into the car with me for a trip to the coast. And, I will miss watching my great niece and nephews grow up. Well guess there is still a small chance this aging body will try making the trip again (long and tiring drive going non-stop).

We believe this particular one came back with me in 2014. Barbara started on the top August 15, 2015. Finishing it November 12th that year. It went off to Catherine Hanna for professional quilting (backing, batting and such as well.) Barbara finished the binding on January 1, 2016.

The fabrics are from a Robyn Pandolph designed collection called "St Rimy de Provence". The quilt pattern is called "Ribbon & Roses". The quilt design, "Twist and Turn" is a pinwheel pattern designed by the team at Village Quilts to make use of the inspiring florals and soft pink hues in the fabric collection.

Gifted

A wee update. My sister's son, Kevin, and family, from Calgary, stopped in to visit with us on their trip to the island in August, 2024. During the first stop, on their way to the island, Barbara showed Callie this quilt. She instantly fell in love with it. Barbara asked her if she would like to take it home. Bingo! One truly happy person. She hung onto it for the rest of their visit. And, insisted on taking it with her to the island.

We were supposed to go out for lunch that day, but I had a cold. So, they stopped on their way home so we could get together for lunch. Sushi!
