Coastal Waters

Background

Barbara labelled this quilt "Blue, Green & Yellow". I have chosen to call it "Coastal Waters". That's because the blue and green made me think of BC coastal inlets based on an earlier conversation today. Well, a pale version thereof.

Barbara used fabrics she had in her stash. The pattern is the one used for the Chocolate Raspberry quilt Barbara made back in 2004. She started working on it on August 6, 2023. The top was completed February 17, 2024. It was then sent to Catherine for professional quilting. The quilting pattern is "blossom". It was completed on or about March 30, 2024.

After its return, Taffy and Larry were over, on April 14, to celebrate Easter and Taffy's birthday. As it was a new quilt, Barbara showed it to them. Taffy asked a question regarding the quilt (don't recall exactly what) and I told her it was for her. I do believe she was a touch stunned. Barbara appeared to be a touch taken aback as well. But she gratefully accepted it. M'thinks she quite liked the colours.

Coastal Waters

If a painting, I would think of it as being in pastels. It was difficult getting the lighting in the bedroom any where near right.

A close up of the quilt blocks and quilting, and a look at the backing fabric (quilting very visible) are also available.
