Lemonade Stand

I loved this quilt the second I saw it (at Village Quilts in Lethbridge, June/July 2012). Not really sure why. At any rate, I bought it along with a couple others to bring home for Barbara (away on her birthday as usual).

It took awhile, but after getting into the baby quilts this year, Barbara just kept on quilting. She started this one on May 29th. The top was finished on July 16. Off to Catherine for backing fabric and professional quilting.

Barbara and Catherine had selected a backing fabric in Catherine's stash that they thought would do the job. But, the more Catherine looked at the quilt, the more she felt it needed something better. So she took herself off to Fabricana and found something she felt gave the quilt the respect it deserved. We agree.

Lemonade Stand

My memory didn't do the final result justice. It looks even better than I expected, or the photo with the kit would have led one to suspect.

A second full view from a different angle, close-up of the fabrics & design, and the backing fabric are also available.

A quilt in yellows, grays, black and white using the 'crazy curves' template & design.
