VDSL Start and VRC Div 3 Teams

Your captains would like to update you on the current status of our two VDSL Division 3 teams.

Tentative Player Assignments

The following core player assignments are still subject to change. The trade deadline is not for another couple of weeks. However, we felt we should make some initial assignments as we have a match this coming Wednesday — less than a week away.

Our goal is to make the two teams as equal as possible. So that we are both competitive in the division and against each other. If you feel we are getting something wrong please let us know.

We will tentatively be listing, on SportyHQ, the following as the core players for each team:

There will also be a backup group of core players (listed as spares): Rip Peterman, Hugh Upjohn, Chad Forbes. These players indicated they'd like to play full-time.

Everyone else has said they are only available as spares.

First Match

The first match of the season will be Wednesday, September 28th. With the two VRC teams playing each other. The match was originally set for 8pm. But, because Lawn matches for the first round have been cancelled (court not ready) that freed up the 6pm spot — to which the captains decided to move the match. So, who is available and interested in playing this coming Wednesday, 6pm, at VRC? For this week, please send your notices of interest to both Gord and me.

Club Sign-up & Squash BC Memmbership

Please be aware that in order to play for VRC in the Vancouver Doubles Squash League you are required to sign-up with the club and pay a small fee. The captains can not select anyone who has not signed up to play. Additionally, the league itself requires that all players are current (paid-up) members of Squash BC.

So, if you have not already done so, please sign-up with the club (on-line or at the office) and with Squash BC.

Missing Players?

We have included everyone who has indicated they are interested in playing in Div 3 this season, either full-time or as a spare. If you know of anyone we have missed, please let me know (include e-mail address please).
