Captain's Procedures

The Quick-Draws site, provides a number of Captain related functions:

• Log In
• Edit contact info
• View other captains
• Add players to team
• Enter league night results

Log In

To be able to use the captains functions, you must first log-in.

However, for the site to function properly, Javascript must be enabled in your browser. So, please ensure you allow Quick-Draws to use Javascript in your browser of choice.

1. access the VDSL on Quick-Draws at:
   http://www.quick-draws.com/TeamLeagues/League.php?lid=103
   (You should likely bookmark this link.)
2. on the menu (left column) click "Captains" under the "Logins:" section
3. select your division, and click "Select Division"
4. select your team, enter your password, and click "Submit"

(If you have not changed the password, the default can be obtained from Rick Kochanski, or Lynn Broman.)

Contact Info

Once in the first thing you should do, is edit your contact info. This is also where the "Team Name", and "Captain Name" can be changed if required. And, if you wish, you can change the password on this page as well.

Once you have made the required changes, and/or additions, click "Save Profile" to save your changes.

View Other Captains

If you wish to get the contact info for other Captains in your division, you need to be on the home page of the VDSL on Quick-Draws. If logged in, you will need to logout. This will automatically return you to the home page.

Then, click "Captains" under the "League Info:" section of the menu.

That means, that the contact info entered by a captain is available to the public at large. So, keep that in mind when entering your contact information. Don't provide anything you aren't willing to have public.

Team Make-up

For the 2012/13 season, we have deleted all of last season's players from each team list. If we somehow missed your team, you should clear the current player list yourself before entering this season's players.

Note: you will not be able to add anyone who is not a member, in good standing, of Squash BC.

To clear the current player list:

1. check the box "Confirm remove all players."
2. click "Remove all players"

To add a player or spare:

1. enter the last name (not all characters may be required) in the appropriate box
2. as you enter the characters of the name, a list of potential matches will appear in the selection box below
3. select the appropriate player from the list (e.g. highlight the players name)
4. select the players normal position (1 = first pair, 2 = second pair, Spare = spare)
5. click "Add player" to add the player to the team
6. when finished adding all the players, click "Done" to return to the captain's starting page

Recording Results

It is the responsibility of the "host team" captain to enter the results from the night's matches (whatever day they are played). You will have approximately 10 days following the day the match was played to enter the results. After that, you will have to get a league admin (Rick Kochanski, Lynn Broman) to enter the results.

The visiting captain is not be able to enter the results.

To enter the results:

1. click "Enter League Night Results" on the captain's menu (left column)
2. select the players for each match and club. If a player is not present on the list, select "Default/Guest". If it is your team missing a name, you should follow the procedure to add the player/spare before recording the results.
3. enter the games won by each club for each match
4. if necessary select the overall winning club (home or visitor or tie)
5. click "Save Results" to record the match on the VDSL site, and to adjust the provincial doubles rankings based on the matches played
